Welcome everyone!! I'm new to this Blog thing, so bear with me while I figure it out.

I am a Registered Nurse located in Southern California and although I have tons of clinical experience in the Health Care industry nothing could have prepared me for the news I received on 9/19/2012. You see, 2-3 weeks earlier my wife found a lump in her right breast....nothing like she had ever noticed before. After mammogram and Ultrasound showed 2 different lumps, they were unable to definitively confirm whether the areas were cancerous or not...so onto the biopsy.

Now, flashback to that ugly date...9/19/2012. I'll never forget it. The phone rings, it's my wife. We've been married close to 20 years, so I KNEW just by her voice. Then she said "Are you sitting down?". NUMB! Infiltrating Ductal Carcinoma? Vision blurry. What???... It can't be. Our lives were instantly thrown into uncertainty and chaos.

This is OUR story through a husbands perspective. I'm a researcher at heart, so I scoured the Internet for days in search of the BEST information...the one area my career has never taken me--cancer/oncology. Naturally, most of the information is geared toward women seeking support and other people with like experiences....but little for spouses. Here's my attempt to document this process with hopes that it may provide other husbands with insights on the experiences I have with trying to support my wife through this LIFECHANGING experience.

Here we go......
